Kathy Shannon

Kathy Shannon is a consultant who has built and sold three businesses.  She specializes in helping small business owners develop the best exit strategy for them and build their value to optimize the sale.

She has over 30 years experience in business, first working for, and with, Fortune 500 Companies and later as a small business owner in metropolitan Detroit.

  • Kathy has served as a Board Trustee for the Michigan Colleges Alliance and on the Advisory Council for Michigan State University’s Advanced Management MBA Alumni Association.
  • Kathy received her MBA from Michigan State University, Executive MBA program.  As a part of the program, she traveled to Scandinavia and several European countries gaining exposure to the international business marketplace.
  • While with Southwestern Bell Communications (now AT&T) Kathy was an Award-Winning Sales Manager and Account Manager.  She led teams in highly competitive sales efforts which result in many multi-million dollar wins.
  • Over the past 18 years, she co-founded three small businesses, all of which were successfully sold “by owner”. The first was to a start-up firm, another to a Fortune 500 Company and the last company was sold to two entrepreneurs.

When she isn’t thinking about, and working on, “Buy, Sell, Grow a Business”, she enjoys boating and traveling with her husband.  She is also laboring to train her puppy, more than he trains her!

Kathy is currently expanding her Strategies for Small Business Owners program and immersing herself into the world of Social Media marketing.
